More Farmhouse

I planted marigolds by the porch.  It's been a long time since I had marigolds, and they look so nice against the fresh white paint of the farmhouse.

The living room is almost finished,  painted and furniture back in place.  A little more to do on the other side of the room, then I will take full-view photos.

I am so happy I painted the brick white, it really makes the room.

Christmas in July, except the tree is always here due to lack of a storage space for it.  Found a string of horses in honor of the World Equestrian Games that our little town will be hosting.

The hall from the kitchen to the bedroom has had two coats of satin white paint and a few touch-ups and it will be complete.  Leaving the ceiling unpainted wood since it is high.

The milk glass chicken collection now resides on the top shelf in the kitchen, except there is one lone duck in the group!

Bob pulled up the laminate in the hall closet.  Nice wood floors underneath.

He also ripped out the stained ceiling tiles in the closet.

Nice wood underneath.  Looking much cleaner and brighter all around!

Now Blooming:  Turks caps.

??? The bushes that I dug at that beautiful old stone house are in bloom.  There are a few of us that got some specimens, and none of us have found out the name of it yet.

Mimosa.  The air smells heavenly!

It's been a long time since I've spotted an unusual moth.  This one has spots of turquoise on his legs.

My update from Renee in New Hampshire.  Not quite what she expected.  Living in a house from the 1700s is daunting.  Lots of mice.  She says every surface in every room needs painting (I know about that!) she had the pine floors refinished, doors from 1785 restored, she's getting a full kitchen remodel, fencing for the dogs.  And as she said, she hasn't even had a winter there, so hopefully she will be moving back!

She had her basement floor epoxied.  She was told her house was used for slaves en route to Canada, so this may be the tunnel that was used.

A little spooky.  Good thing she lives with pitties. She messaged me while watching the men's match at Wimbledon.  She is visiting her family in Switzerland.

In Rescue:  Poor senior Buster.  His owner went to a nursing home with only a neighbor to come and feed him every couple of days.  He was left outside for five months!  It was brought to my attention so I began my work, and my friend in Drums, PA who I have gotten a dog to before said she would take him.

I got boarding at kennels for him until transport and got him groomed and set up transport from NC to PA.  Here he is without his coat with one of his volunteer drivers, Donna.

Here he is at Marcia's.  He found a bed and he's not getting out of it!

This is Boo Boo, who has been sitting in a KY shelter for months.  He's 11 years old.  Another rescue friend, Karen Dickson, called to see if I could get him a home.  I actually worked with her last year to get Dickson Bear to my friend in Florida.  He, too, is going to Drums, PA to Marcia and leaves this Friday!

What a coincidence that Karen called.  This is Dickson Bear who we both saved last November and I took to my friend Valerie in Jacksonville.  Dickson Bear or "Little Man" as Val called him was not doing well and she had to let him go.

Each time a friend calls me with the sad news and I have had involvement with placing them, it's like losing one of my own.

RIP Little Man. We will miss you.
