Sunday in Downtown Asheville

Views of the Blue Ridge all the way from the lake to Asheville

Interesting architecture throughout the city

Chess games around the park, can you believe no cellphones!

Ate lunch here.  I had Indian crepes which were wonderful!

Not one person on a cellphone, people were actually talking to each other while eating.  Unheard of in Atlanta!

1930's cabins dot the roads back to the lake

Flying Cloud Farm/CSA.  A transplant from Philadelphia runs this farm!

My favorite plant . . . BAMBOO

In and Around the Garden

Teasle, once used by the Colonists to card wool

Persia & Old Mexico Zinnias, fast becoming one of my favorites

Our snake got tangled in netting, we cut him out and he is back home in the rafters of the basement!

A gift from my friend Debra.  I love this frog house as much as the frogs.

Majestic Poke Berry

Pods from the Parasol Tree or as Southerners call it Cottonwood

Faux bois planters with peacock ferns

A wooden snowy owl.

Lunch with Molly, Marian & Dixie

Molly is Marian's new little girl
(That chew stick in her mouth was my gift to her)
We had lunch at Scottsdale Farms and then went to Marian's for dessert and to meet Molly

She is very sweet and has a LOT of energy

We also got to see photos of Marian's trip to the Ukraine in May

Lovely strawberries, lemonade and brownies, start the diet tomorrow

Molly looking out the front window

Marian's dolls from the Ukraine.  Thank you Marian for inviting us!

Dog Days of Summer

Bear alerts around the lake.  Asking everyone to take down bird feeders and get bear-proof
trash cans.  Too many to trap and move, especially on the North Carolina side.  Could it be they've
seen the Wong?

Who cares about bear when there's a swimming pool and a football ready and waiting?
Ahhh

Maybe a long afternoon nap in the heat of the day.
Or maybe just laying low on the porch and watching the chipmunks..
Or maybe chasing chipmunks?
The cool pad and chillow aren't bad.
Maybe going au-naturale and taking a dip in the marshes?
Maybe a Frosty Paws before the nap.
