Bit by bit things are getting accomplished. The bark backsplash is now up, and I couldn't be more pleased with the look. It's the first one our contractor has ever done, and he seemed surprised at how nice it looked against the knotty pine and Silestone countertop. Now to see what others think.

As you can see in this photo, the hummingbird feeder is up, the hummers arrived a week ago. |

I have to admit, I am not the first to think of using the bark siding inside. I went online and saw many rooms done in bark and really liked the natural look. |

Next to be done are the heart pine floors, they just need a sanding and oil to make them look clean and beautiful. I'm on the list! Could take a month or two, but that will be the finishing touch to the kitchen. |

The Easter mantle will stay up until Mother's Day when my family will be visiting. |

Found this paper Easter mobile at a tag sale for $1, and it's a keeper. The ducklings are made of pussy willow. |

Found a couple of antique lamps and met the ladies from the garden club, one of which dug up some peacock fern from her yard and met me this week. Hoping they take, I have not had a lot of luck with them. |

Did a transport to Columbia, SC, to get Jace, a 7 year old chow, but never made it, my car passed out on the side of the highway. Thanks to the girls on either end of me who picked me up and got me a tow and rental car. My car is 20 years old this year, might be time to buy a new one. |
